Stillness

God is stillness. What is changeless is still. The world has the appearance of movement, frantic movement in a rushed society, but the Real underlying this hurriedness is stillness. When we get past the appearance, there is only the One. We are not a bunch of separate moving parts. We are still. Take a close look at a flower or a tree. It may be blown by the wind, but that is an effect, not a cause. The effect changes, the cause remains still. The surface (the appearance) of a lake or the ocean moves, but as you go deep, it is still. That stillness is you. You are not this frenetic and busy person in a body. That is what you have chosen to exhibit as part of the appearance. You are the Stillness.

Souce of Suffering

I was interviewed on a radio show this week, and one of the questions that I was asked pertained to the source of suffering. All suffering relates back to our turning away, to our forgetting God. He is the Source of all Love, peace, and joy, and when we try to go through this dream without an awareness of His Love and our Oneness with that Love, we get the opposite of Love, peace, and joy. Suffering takes many forms, but it always comes back to the above truth. In a way, that is very comforting, because you cannot change suffering by working within the suffering. You cannot find Truth within the illusion. I am not saying to not be compassionate or be of service, but carry with you the knowing that suffering is not alleviated by trying to "fix" the problem. You will never be able to fix the problem, because illusions cannot be fixed. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by an infinite number of solutions that may temporarily work, see the suffering from a higher perspective. As you see it from a God perspective, you will no longer see the suffering in the way that you previously did. And when you change to to the higher perspective, when the Light of your awareness shines on everything, those that are "experiencing" the suffering will also begin to see it differently.

Experiencing God

We experience God to the point that we have stripped away false beliefs about ourself and the world. We are the Divine, but we have layers upon layers of illusory beliefs which prevent us from seeing ourself clearly. Many of us have emotional traumas that go back to childhood. If these blockages are not cleared, it is as if we are a six year old or eight year old emotionally. We are frozen in time at the point that the trauma occurred, or if it is an ongoing trauma such as emotional neglect, that blockage builds up over time. So many of us have beliefs that mirror what we were told as a child. We still hear the message that "we are not a good girl" or that "we should be ashamed for something we did. " When we judge someone else, it is a projection of our judgment of ourself. We project it out because we cannot bear to hear the true message that we feel about ourself. There is no place for sin, unworthiness, guilt or blame in the body of God. None of these exist but in our own minds. They are not part of Creation, and as we are Creation, they are not part of us. When you strip away these false things, what is left is what is Real --- God.
