Stillness
Stillness is our true nature. That’s what we crave unless we are trying to not be still because we fear being in communion with God (this is why so many people medicate and have to constantly be doing something).
But even though we want to return to that stillness which is the state we exist in Heaven, we are here having a different experience. We are experiencing, God is experiencing, the contrast to stillness, which is action. Since God is One, He-We can only experience something through the appearance of contrast to that. Earth is a unique opportunity and playground to experience that.
So as we exist in this reality, we have this constant tension that is going on between the desire for our true nature which is stillness and the experiencing of its contrast, which is action. This is a continuum. We are on the continuum the whole time but sometimes it feels like we want to be on one point of the continuum – the stillness or another – the action. So sometimes it feels like we want to go live in a cave and be still forever and other times it feels like we want to change the world through our actions. This is the paradox of this reality.
