Trials

You know the saying that what doesn't kill you will make you stronger? Know that if God has given you a trial to bring you
closer to Him, it will not kill you, or you would not have been given it. These trials are not meant to punish you, and they are better termed as opportunities for growth. They are only painful when we resist them for fear of change, and it is all in how we perceive them. If we perceive them as opportunities for growth, we will move with ease through them. This doesn't mean that we don't experience emotions like anger or grief. It just means that we float effortlessy on the River of Life and don't get banged up on the rocks if we try to control where we go (resistance). Trials are given out of Love --- He is a God of Love, not punishment --- so that you can shed false beliefs you have about yourself and so that you can see how much strength and faith you truly have. When you see this, it helps you to remember and grow closer to Him.
