We Must Find Meaning

We must find the true meaning of our creation and why we are here. Technology, money, and materialism have become our gods. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the things of the world --- the question is how do we use them. They have replaced the only thing that will give us true joy, which is living and having our being in Him. Because nothing of this world can replace the longing and Love we have for Him and which we feel at a deep level, we unsuccessfully try to up the ante and we become obsessed with the latest gadget, with a bigger house, with needing to accumulate more money when someone already has more than they could ever use. We can only drive one car at a time, sleep in one house, wear one pair of clothes.

Is there any question why drug and alcohol use and addiction is rampant, why many people are depressed and suicide is skyrocketing? Our spirits have to be nourished and no phone or drink can do that. Many are afraid to be still, because if they slow down for even a moment, this hopelessness will become apparent. Do you spend all your spare time surfing the Internet or playing games on your phone? Or do you spend it trying to connect and commune with Him?
